India’s insurance industry registered a 2.5% drop in IT hiring activity in March 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 0.54% in March 2022 when compared with February 2022.
Out of the insurance industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 11.13% share in March 2022, recording an increase of 2.32% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s insurance industry’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 103.41% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s insurance industry in March 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 72.73% in March 2022, registering a 38.46% decline over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed an 18.18% share, a decrease of 23.81% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 10.23%, registering a 60.87% decline from February 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 2.27%, down 77.78% over the previous month.
Top five insurance companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 20.75% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s insurance industry during March 2022 over February 2022.
Swiss Re posted 24 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a drop of 11.11% over the previous month, followed by Zurich Insurance Group with 14 jobs and a 17.65% drop. Willis Towers Watson Public Limited with 9 jobs, recorded a 200% growth, while Marsh & McLennan Companies recorded an increase of 166.67% with 8 job postings during March 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.82%, down by 45.65% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 34.09% share, registered a decline of 42.31% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 9.09% share, flat growth over February 2022.
