The industry’s overall hiring increased by 3.08% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.

Out of the insurance industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 9.42% share in September 2021, recording a decrease of 0.38% over the last three-month average share.

By GlobalData1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 53.3% in September 2021, registering a 6.06% flat growth over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 19.29% share, an increase of 26.67% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 13.71%, registering a 20.59% decline from August 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 8.12%, down 20% over the previous month.
Top five insurance companies in Canada’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 17.14% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s insurance industry during September 2021 over August 2021.
Intact Financial posted 42 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a rise of 90.91% over the previous month, followed by Power Financial with 29 jobs and a 17.14% drop. Economical Mutual Insurance with 20 IT jobs and Sun Life Financial with 17 jobs, recorded a 42.86% flat growth and a 10.53% decrease, respectively, while Great-West Lifeco recorded a flat growth with 15 job postings during September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.97%, down by 3.03% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 20.81% share, registered an increase of 5.13% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 12.18% share, up 33.33% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 2.03%, recording a month-on-month increase of 100%.
