Australia’s insurance industry registered a 1.9% rise in IT hiring activity in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 1.65% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.

Out of the insurance industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 11.47% share in September 2021, recording an increase of 1.12% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 54.89% in September 2021, registering a 15.87% flat growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 22.56% share, a decrease of 6.25% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 12.78%, registering a flat growth from August 2021.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 5.26%, up 16.67% over the previous month.

Top five insurance companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 29.23% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s insurance industry during September 2021 over August 2021.

Dai-ichi Life Holdings posted 28 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a rise of 33.33% over the previous month, followed by Insurance Australia Group with 22 jobs and a 21.43% drop. The British United Provident Association with 16 IT jobs and nib Holdings with 9 jobs, recorded a 33.33% flat growth and a 125% flat growth, respectively, while Chubb recorded a flat growth with 9 job postings during September 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 66.92%, down by 9.18% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 21.05% share, registered an increase of 64.71% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.28% share, up 66.67% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.75%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
