Australia’s insurance industry registered a 1.1% rise in IT hiring activity in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.67% in November 2021 when compared with October 2021.

Out of the insurance industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 11.33% share in November 2021, recording an increase of 0.1% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 39.22% in November 2021, registering a 37.5% decline over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 33.33% share, an increase of 47.83% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 16.67%, registering a 5.56% decline from October 2021.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 8.82%, up 125% over the previous month.

Top five insurance companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 31.11% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s insurance industry during November 2021 over October 2021.

Dai-ichi Life Holdings posted 24 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a rise of 118.18% over the previous month, followed by The British United Provident Association with 10 jobs and a 33.33% drop. nib Holdings with 10 IT jobs and AIA Group with 8 jobs, recorded a 100% growth and a 100% growth, respectively, while Challenger recorded a decline of 30% with 7 job postings during November 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 77.45%, down by 15.96% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 15.69% share, registered an increase of 14.29% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.86% share, up 40% over October 2021.
