The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 2.1% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.
Out of the insurance industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 11.67% share in October 2021, recording an increase of 0.9% over the last three-month average share.

By GlobalData1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 55.05% in October 2021, registering an 11.76% decline over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 21.1% share, a decrease of 20.69% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 16.51%, registering a flat growth from September 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 3.67%, down 20% over the previous month.
Top five insurance companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 8.75% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s insurance industry during October 2021 over September 2021.
Insurance Australia Group posted 30 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a rise of 36.36% over the previous month, followed by The British United Provident Association with 15 jobs and an 11.76% drop. Dai-ichi Life Holdings with 11 IT jobs and Challenger with 10 jobs, recorded a 62.07% decline and a 100% growth, respectively, while AMP recorded a flat growth with 7 job postings during October 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 82.57%, up by 1.12% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 12.84% share, registered a decline of 36.36% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 3.67% share, down 69.23% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.92%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
