IT jobs accounted for a 12.56% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in April 2022, registering a decrease of 1.46% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in April 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 47.7% in April 2022, a 15.79% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 31.98% in April 2022, marking a 55.26% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 12.47% in April 2022, a 4.55% rise from March 2022.

Top five insurance companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 1.73% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s insurance industry during April 2022 over previous month.
Swiss Re posted 49 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered an increase of 22.5% over the previous month, followed by Zurich Insurance Group with 43 jobs and a 19.44% growth. Prudential with 27 IT jobs and Willis Towers Watson with 26 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 44.68% drop, respectively, while Insurance Australia Group recorded an 8.7% increase with 25 job postings during April 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s insurance industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s insurance industry IT hiring activity with a 36.04% share in April 2022, a 58.33% increase over March 2022. Australia featured next with a 15.72% share, up 3.57% over the previous month. Singapore recorded a 12.2% share, a growth of 21.62% compared with March 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.41%, up by 4% from March 2022. Mid Level positions with a 27.1% share, registered a growth of 1.01% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.94% share, up 6.45% over March 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.54%, recording a month-on-month decline of 60%.
