The value marked an increase of 471.8% over the previous month and a drop of 7.5% when compared with the last 12-month average, which stood at $6.93bn.
Comparing deals value in different regions of the globe, North America held the top position, with total announced deals in the period worth $6.25bn. At the country level, the US topped the list in terms of deal value at $6.25bn.
In terms of volumes, North America emerged as the top region for insurance industry M&A deals globally, followed by Europe and then South and Central America.

2) The $1.68bn acquisition of Versant Health by MetLife
3) Farm Bureau Property & Casualty Insurance’s $440m acquisition of FBL Financial Group
4) The $400m acquisition of Gainsco by State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance
5) Verisk Analytics’ acquisition of Franco Signor for $160m.
