The US’s insurance industry registered a 5.9% rise in IT hiring activity in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 11.17% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.

Out of the insurance industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 9.62% share in August 2021, recording a decrease of 0.3% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s insurance industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.12% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s insurance industry in August 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 51.6% in August 2021, registering an 11.36% flat growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 19.6% share, an increase of 20.07% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 11.48%, registering a 15.49% rise from July 2021.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 9.97%, up 5.33% over the previous month.

Top five insurance companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 14.9% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s insurance industry during August 2021 over July 2021.

UnitedHealth Group posted 507 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a drop of 7.82% over the previous month, followed by Anthem with 372 jobs and a 19.23% growth. Dai-ichi Life Holdings with 242 IT jobs and Centene with 188 jobs, recorded a 227.03% flat growth and a 2.17% flat growth, respectively, while USAA recorded an increase of 1.23% with 164 job postings during August 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.67%, up by 12% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 26.2% share, registered an increase of 8.96% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.06% share, up 20.8% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.06%, recording a month-on-month decline of 13.64%.
