Canada insurance industry registered a 5.4% rise in IT hiring activity in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.

The industry’s overall hiring an increased by 14.43% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.

Out of the insurance industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 11.28% share in June 2021, recording decrease of 1.42% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 47.16% in June 2021, a 3.11% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 25.85% share, an increase of 59.65% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 14.49%, registering a 30.77% rise from May 2021.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 7.39%, up 30% over the previous month.

Top five insurance companies in Canada IT recruitment activity in June 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 13.45% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada insurance industry during June 2021 over May 2021.

Dai-ichi Life Holdings posted 71 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a drop of 5.33% over the previous month, followed by The Travelers Companies with 33 jobs and a 15.38% drop. Intact Financial with 32 IT jobs and Economical Mutual Insurance with 30 jobs, recorded a 52.38% growth and a 76.47% increase, respectively, while Power Financial recorded a 47.37% an increase with 28 job postings during June 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 75.85%, up by 11.72% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 16.48% share, a growth of 28.89% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.1% share, up 108.33% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.57%, recording a month-on-month an increase of 100%.
