Australia insurance industry registered a 13.4% rise in IT hiring activity in May 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.

The industry’s overall hiring an increased by 8.31% in May 2021 compared with April 2021.

Out of the insurance industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 8.76% share in May 2021, recording an increase of 0.34% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 36.56% in May 2021, a 70% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 23.66% share, an increase of 15.79% over the previous month.

3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 15.05%, registering a 1300% rise from April 2021.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 13.98%, down 23.53% over the previous month.

Top five insurance companies in Australia IT recruitment activity in May 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 78.57% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia insurance industry during May 2021 over April 2021.

Dai-ichi Life Holdings posted 17 IT jobs in May 2021 and registered a rise of 142.86% over the previous month, followed by AMP with 11 jobs and a 1000% growth. Bupa Global with 8 IT jobs and nib Holdings with 7 jobs, recorded a 27.27% drop and a 250% increase, respectively, while TAL Dai-ichi Life Australia recorded a flat growth with 7 job postings during May 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 86.02%, up by 40.35% from April 2021. Mid Level positions with a 12.9% share, a growth of 140% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 1.08% share, flat growth over April 2021.
