May 2021 has seen an increase of 5.28% in the overall hiring activity when compared with April 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 14.62% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in May 2021, registering an increase of 0.78% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in May 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 56.89% in May 2021, a 2.23% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 15.24% in May 2021, marking a 6% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 11.02% in May 2021, an 11.69% drop from April 2021.

Top five insurance companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in May 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 14.49% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s insurance industry during May 2021 over previous month.

UnitedHealth Group posted 170 IT jobs in May 2021 and registered a decline of 2.3% over the previous month, followed by Swiss Re with 69 jobs and a 23.21% growth. Willis Towers Watson with 56 IT jobs and Intercorp Financial Services with 54 jobs, recorded an 80.65% growth and a 22.73% increase, respectively, while Manulife Financial recorded a 14.89% an increase with 54 job postings during May 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s insurance industry

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s insurance industry IT hiring activity with a 37.6% share in May 2021, a 6.42% rise over April 2021. Philippines featured next with a 15.07% share, down 7% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 15.07% share, a growth of 50% compared with April 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 75.53%, down by 2.51% from April 2021. Mid Level positions with a 19.29% share, a growth of 5.31% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 4.86% share, up 87.5% over April 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.32%, recording a month-on-month decline of 66.67%.
