Experience unmatched clarity with a single platform that combines unique data, AI, and human expertise.
According to the press statement, the solution is designed to help corporate clients manage the operational and repair-related risks that come with deploying robotic systems.
Zurich Insurance (Greater China) CEO Eric Hui said: “Zurich has long championed the wider application of InsurTech, which closely aligns with YAS’ vision.
“With this partnership, we hope to bring together our respective strengths, using insurance to support technological development and to further enable digital transformation and smart operations for businesses in Hong Kong.”
Businesses using YAS robotics solutions will receive scenario-based coverage that includes protection against robot repair costs arising from insured incidents and compensation for deductibles under related insurance policies.
The partners noted that different robotics applications carry distinct risk profiles.
Robots operating on construction sites contend with complex environments and heavy machinery, while those deployed in retail settings must navigate spaces shared with customers.
The collaboration seeks to address these varying exposures through coverage spanning both robot repairs and third-party liability.
Zurich said the tie-up is intended to bolster risk management around robotics applications and support wider adoption of AI-driven technologies in Hong Kong.
YAS co-founder William Lee added: “Following our earlier collaboration with Zurich on protection for electric taxi fleets, we are delighted to work together again in the area of robotics insurance. Looking ahead, we plan to deepen our ‘lab’ collaboration with Zurich in fields such as autonomous driving, electric vehicle ecosystem, drones and green finance, so we can help businesses in Hong Kong seize the opportunities brought by innovative technologies.”
Earlier this month, Zurich Commercial Insurance took its Data Center Project Guard product global, expanding into Brazil, Germany, Italy, the Nordics and Spain following its US debut in January 2026.
Originally developed by Zurich North America’s construction team, the product secured business within weeks of launching in the US ahead of its roll-out across the five new markets.
