Talanx has secured full ownership of two major Polish insurance companies, Warta and TU Europa, following the end of its long-standing partnership with Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company.
The transfer of shares was concluded on 16 February 2026, after both parties agreed to finalise their alliance on 31 December 2025.

The terms for the transaction were set in December 2024.
Through this agreement, Talanx purchased Meiji Yasuda’s remaining 24.3% share in Warta and 50% minus one share in TU Europa.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
According to relevant accounting regulations, earnings attributable to these shares have been included in the Retail International division’s results from the beginning of 2025.

By GlobalDataHDI International, which handles Talanx Group’s international private and commercial insurance operations, has had a presence in Poland via Warta since 2012.
In 2024, Warta recorded insurance revenue of approximately €2.7bn ($3.1bn) and employed around 3,000 staff.
TU Europa has also been part of the group’s Polish operations since 2012 and reported €168m in insurance revenue last year with a workforce of roughly 350.
Meiji Yasuda will continue its overseas activities in markets such as the US, China and Thailand.
The partnership between Talanx and Meiji Yasuda began in November 2010 and included joint investments in Polish subsidiaries, starting in 2012.
