Insurance broker and consultant NFP has unveiled a new personal cybersecurity product, in association with cybersecurity-focused claims management provider CyberScout.

Called DigitalShield, the new offering will offer users round-the-clock support through different cyber scenarios.

The product can offer protection for a range of cyber vulnerabilities faced by individuals, noted the firm.

It offers a package of coverage across eight cyber concerns. These cover cyberattacks, ransomware, identity theft, cybercrime, smart devices and wearables, cyber bullying, reputation coverage, as well as cyberstalking.

The coverage for a cybersecurity event ranges between $100,000 and $1m.

NFP managing director and Cyber technical leader Elissa Doroff said: “DigitalShield addresses the cyber risk challenges clients face by mitigating the risk and protecting crucial information in an all-inclusive coverage package.”

Currently, the new product will be made available to individuals in Canada. Plans are on to expand the availability to individuals in the US later this year.

NFP managing director of Private Client Group in Canada Brian Timmis said: “As online threats and data breaches continue to rise, protecting our clients from cyberattacks has become a top priority.

“By offering DigitalShield, we can work to protect clients from the most common cyberattacks with a comprehensive and cost-efficient product.”

NFP offers property and casualty, corporate benefits, retirement and individual solutions.

Last month, NFP tapped CyberCube to leverage the latter’s Broking Manager solution to boost its cyber capabilities. As part of the alliance, NFP will roll out Broking Manager to its professionals worldwide.

In April last year, NFP bought Ohio-based Progressive Benefits Agency.
