Beijing-headquartered China Life has appointed
Yang Mingsheng as chairman of China Life, replacing Yuan Li.
According to news reports, Mingsheng was
previously vice chairman of the China Insurance Regulatory
Commission (CIRC). He is also said to have worked for about 30
years at Agricultural Bank of China.
China Life was the largest life insurance
company in China as of 30 June 2011.
As of 30 June 2011, the company had 135m
long-term in-force insurance policies offering individual and group
life, annuities and health insurance protection.
