Ignite Specialty Risk has established an Australian operation, appointing Lucinda Stormont-Sainsbury as head of Australian operations.

In a statement, Ignite said the expansion follows a period of “sustained” international growth.

The company provides litigation risk, tax liability and contingent risk insurance solutions across the UK, Europe and the US.

Stormont-Sainsbury brings 15 years of experience spanning underwriting, claims, private practice and in-house insurance law roles.

Most recently, she served as senior legal counsel at HDI Global, advising its branches across Australia, Dubai, Hong Kong, Malaysia, New Zealand and Singapore.

Stormont-Sainsbury will be based in Sydney.
