MS Reinsurance (MS Re) has announced the retirement of its group chief underwriting officer (CUO), Charles Goldie, and appointed Jörg Bruniecki as his replacement.
Goldie will step down on 1 April 2026, having worked in the role of CUO for five years.

He will continue at the company as senior advisor to CEO Robert Wiest.
Goldie said: “It has been a privilege to help lead MS Re during a period of significant growth and change.
“I am proud of what our underwriting teams have built, and the discipline, creativity and client partnership that define who we are today. I am particularly pleased to see Jörg assume the CUO role.”
Bruniecki, with three decades of experience in the reinsurance space, will manage MS Re’s global underwriting strategy in his new role.

Bruniecki joined MS Re in 2022 in the role of CUO for International P&C (property and casualty).
Latterly managing Global Specialty Lines as CUO, he oversaw all specialty lines including agriculture, financial risks, cyber, engineering, and complex industrial and corporate risks.
Previously, he worked in senior positions at PartnerRe and Munich Re.

Additionally, MS Re noted that Louis de Segonzac, presently serving as CUO for the Americas, will be appointed chief technical underwriting officer (CTUO) from April 2026.
De Segonzac will report to the CEO and replace Marcus Pollak, who will move to another role within the company.
MS Re indicated that it is conducting a search process both internally and externally to identify candidates for positions left vacant due to these changes.
MS Re operates through three business units – Americas, International, and Global Specialty Lines – and underwrites non-life treaty reinsurance globally from offices in Zurich, Bermuda, Miami and New York.
The company is part of Japanese insurance group MS&AD.
