Allianz SE and Anthropic have forged a global alliance with the objective of embedding responsible AI across Allianz’s business functions.
The agreement outlines collaborative work in three main domains, with initial projects already under way.

Experience unmatched clarity with a single platform that combines unique data, AI, and human expertise.
The first area targets insurance-specific operational enhancements through AI integration, such as making Anthropic’s AI-driven coding tool, Claude Code, available for use by all Allianz employees.
The introduction of model context protocols aims to help staff securely connect and manage data from various sources within the organisation.
The second project focuses on automation using custom-built AI agents.
These systems are being designed to handle complex, multi-step processes such as claims handling in motor and health insurance.

Allianz CEO Oliver Bäte said: “With this partnership, Allianz is taking a decisive step to address critical AI challenges in insurance. Anthropic’s focus on safety and transparency complements our strong dedication to customer excellence and stakeholder trust. Together, we are building solutions that prioritise what matters most to our customers while setting new standards for innovation and resilience.”
The insurer has started rolling out AI-based initiatives including multilingual voice support for roadside assistance, automated processing of food spoilage claims in Australia and faster payment of pet insurance claims in Germany.
Allianz is also investing in training employees to improve AI competency across its workforce.
Anthropic CEO and co-founder Dario Amodei commented: “Insurance is an industry where the stakes of using AI are particularly high: the decisions can affect millions of people. Allianz and Anthropic both take that very seriously, and we look forward to working together to make insurance better for those who depend on it.”
