Insurance company Vitality and Google have introduced a new AI platform, Vitality AI, aimed at reshaping health and life insurance through data analysis.
The initiative brings together Google Cloud’s AI capabilities with Vitality’s health and lifestyle datasets.

Experience unmatched clarity with a single platform that combines unique data, AI, and human expertise.
Under the partnership, Google’s AI, including tools from its Vertex AI platform and Gemini models, will be used to analyse de-identified data collected by Vitality.
This dataset covers more than 2,800 aspects such as activity levels, sleep patterns, clinical risk factors, and responses to incentives designed to promote healthy behaviour.
The collaboration is intended to enable Vitality to offer customers insights more closely tailored to their individual health profiles.
Recommendations generated by the platform may relate to exercise, sleep routines, preventive screenings or wellness coaching.

By GlobalDataDiscovery Group chief executive and founder Adrian Gore said: “Despite the clear benefits of preventative care, health systems and the insurance market as a whole remain focused on treating illness when it happens. Our partnership with Google transforms this.
“By bringing together Google’s technology and AI capabilities, and our unique datasets and understanding of behaviour change, we will have a never-before-seen capability and understanding of a person’s health, coming together in a way that personalises and empowers millions of people to take control of their health.”
Discovery is Vitality’s parent company.
The agreement will also see further integration with Google’s Health Connect service, allowing for secure sharing of well-being information from multiple apps and connected devices.
The partnership follows ongoing cooperation between Vitality and Fitbit over the past ten years, which has involved a large network of connected device users in several markets.
Google will support the expansion of the Vitality AI platform into new markets by serving as a marketing partner.
Google Cloud UK, Ireland and sub-Saharan Africa vice-president Maureen Costello stated: “By integrating Google Cloud’s advanced AI capabilities, including Gemini models, with Vitality’s data and understanding of driving healthier habits, this partnership poses an exciting opportunity to deliver hyper-relevant healthcare at scale.”
Vitality AI is set to launch in the UK and South Africa by summer 2026, with plans for expansion to other Vitality partner markets and the US. The platform is expected to reach 13 million customers globally in subsequent years.
