American International Group (AIG) has revealed the new leadership structure for its North America Commercial Insurance division.

This follows the forthcoming retirement of the division’s executive vice-president and CEO, Don Bailey.

Bailey, with more than 40 years of experience in insurance industry, will depart at the end of the year to prioritise his health.

His tenure at AIG has been marked by contributions to the repositioning of the company’s commercial business in North America, rejuvenating the company’s relationships with brokers and clients in the region.

Bailey said: “Joining AIG at a pivotal moment in its turnaround and having the opportunity to work closely with Peter Zaffino again is the capstone of my career. It has been an honour to lead the incredibly talented and committed team of colleagues across North America.”

The leadership structure for the company’s North America division is set to take effect on 1 January 2026.

AIG CEO and chairman Peter Zaffino stated: “Don Bailey has made a tremendous impact on AIG during his tenure. He revitalised AIG’s distribution and client relationships and galvanised our North America team as we instilled underwriting excellence and established leadership in the marketplace.
