Coalition has launched its Active Cyber Insurance in France through a subsidiary, Coalition Insurance Solutions.

The solution will provide French companies with revenues up to €1bn with cyber risk management and insurance coverage.

Under a multi-year agreement, Allianz Commercial is backing the programme by offering capacity through Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty.

Coalition’s Active Insurance provides an integrated approach to cyber risk, supported by in-house technical expertise.

Insured companies will have access to Coalition Control, a cyber risk management platform that offers assessments of cyber exposure, along with alerts on potential vulnerabilities and threats.

The platform also provides additional security services including employee training and managed detection and response capabilities.

To lead its new operations, Coalition has hired Benjamin Barès as the head of business development for France.

With more than 20 years of industry experience, he latterly worked as the director of direct sales and partnerships at Hiscox Assurances France.

Supporting Barès is a team that includes Frédéric Gatte, joining as director of underwriting with a background in cyber expertise at Onda and Diot Siaci, and Tom Paparella, a production underwriter from Coalition’s US operations.

Barès said: “I am thrilled to be joining Coalition, a trusted insurance provider for over 100,000 organisations and a partner to over 65,000 brokers worldwide.

“Our ambition in France—as around the globe—is to establish long-lasting relationships with brokers and agencies, supported by extensive training materials and broker-specific resources, as well as a streamlined quoting process that enables brokers to obtain quotes within minutes via our online Broker Platform.”

Coalition head of Insurance for Continental Europe Tine Simonsen stated: “As global cyber threats grow, French businesses – small businesses especially – need an experienced and innovative insurance provider that not only helps mitigate financial losses but also equips them with the cybersecurity tools necessary to better understand their risks, strengthen their defences and prevent future attacks.”
