Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM) has named Benjamin Faerestrand as its UK High Net Worth (HNW) household underwriter to lead its expansion into the HNW sector.
Faerestrand will report directly to James Garthwaite, senior underwriter for fine art & specie (FAS).
Garthwaite said: “Ben’s appointment represents a pivotal moment for Liberty as we expand on our existing, market-leading FAS offering in the UK through entering the HNW market in the region. His market knowledge and experience provide a strong foundation for building a compelling alternative for clients.”
Faerestrand remit includes the development of underwriting guidelines, product innovation, broker relationship management, and the pursuit of new business opportunities.
Bringing close to 15 years of industry experience to the role, Faerestrand has a background that includes a recent position as strategic account and team manager at Chubb.
Prior to that, he served as an art and private client development underwriter for eight years and professional history spans regional locations such as London, Colchester, and York.
