November 2021 has seen a decrease of 4.14% in the overall hiring activity when compared with October 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 10.25% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2021, registering an increase of 0.45% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 51.2% in November 2021, a 14.54% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 20.97% in November 2021, marking an 8.02% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 12.73% in November 2021, an 11.41% drop from October 2021.

Top five insurance companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 6.18% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s insurance industry during November 2021 over previous month.

UnitedHealth Group posted 538 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a decline of 8.81% over the previous month, followed by Anthem with 438 jobs and an 11.16% drop. Centene with 328 IT jobs and Dai-ichi Life Holdings with 175 jobs, recorded a 28.54% drop and a 306.98% rise, respectively, while The Allstate recorded a flat growth with 130 job postings during November 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s insurance industry

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s insurance industry IT hiring activity with a 94.29% share in November 2021, a 12.8% decrease over October 2021. Canada featured next with a 4.86% share, down 5.82% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.85% share, a growth of 34.78% compared with October 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 62.86%, down by 7.1% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 24% share, registered a decline of 13.74% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 12.23% share, down 31.71% over October 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.9%, recording a month-on-month growth of 57.14%.
