IT jobs accounted for a 12.66% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2021, registering an increase of 1.18% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 63.83% in October 2021, a 66.67% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 14.89% in October 2021, marking a 40% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 10.64% in October 2021, a flat growth from September 2021.

Top five insurance companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 43.33% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s insurance industry during October 2021 over previous month.
AIA Group posted 19 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered an increase of 171.43% over the previous month, followed by Willis Towers Watson with 13 jobs and an 8.33% growth. Swiss Re with 6 IT jobs and Porto Seguro with 3 jobs, recorded a 50% rise and a 57.14% drop, respectively, while Grupo de Inversiones Suramericana recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during October 2021.

Anguilla commanded a leading presence in the region’s insurance industry IT hiring activity with a 40.43% share in October 2021, a 171.43% increase over September 2021. Brazil featured next with a 21.28% share, down 37.5% over the previous month. Peru recorded a 19.15% share, a flat growth compared with September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 78.72%, up by 27.59% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 14.89% share, registered a growth of 133.33% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 4.26% share, down 60% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 2.13%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
