The UK insurance industry registered a 14.9% rise in IT hiring activity in May 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.

The industry’s overall hiring an increased by 14.19% in May 2021 compared with April 2021.

Out of the insurance industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 12.91% share in May 2021, recording an increase of 0.5% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 44.8% in May 2021, a 19.28% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 22.17% share, decline of 7.55% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 13.57%, registering a 7.14% rise from April 2021.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 10.86%, up 41.18% over the previous month.

Top five insurance companies in the UK IT recruitment activity in May 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 36.36% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK insurance industry during May 2021 over April 2021.

Equitable posted 20 IT jobs in May 2021 and registered a rise of 100% over the previous month, followed by Willis Towers Watson with 19 jobs and a 26.67% growth. Admiral Group with 18 IT jobs and Hiscox with 17 jobs, recorded a flat growth and an 112.5% increase, respectively, while AXA recorded a 6.67% an increase with 16 job postings during May 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 78.73%, up by 25.18% from April 2021. Mid Level positions with a 12.67% share, a decline of 15.15% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.14% share, down 5.26% over April 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.45%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
