New York Life has appointed Troy Glover and John Fleurant to two senior roles at the company.

Glover has been appointed as senior vice president of New York Life’s long-term care insurance operation.

In overseeing New York Life’s long-term care operation his responsibilities will include product development, marketing and administration. He will report to Paul Pasteris, senior vice president and chief administrative officer of the insurance group.

Glover joined New York Life in 2000 as a director in the variable products service centre, before being named chief operating officer of the company’s long-term care insurance operation in 2009 with oversight for IT, marketing, actuarial, product development and financial accounting areas.

Prior to joining New York Life, he held positions at Merrill Lynch and Prudential.

Glover will succeed senior vice president Michael Gallo who has led New York Life’s long-term care operation since 2009.

Gallo will remain in Austin for a transition period after which he will return to the company’s home office in New York City, where he will work on key initiatives for the insurance group.

Chris Blunt, president of New York Life, said Glover’s substantial experience in the industry and with long-term care insurance the provider’s success in this area.

New York Life has also appointed John Fleurant as its deputy chief financial officer (CFO).

This is a new position reporting to executive vice president and chief financial officer Michael Sproule.

As deputy CFO, Fleurant will retain his current roles as senior vice president of financial and controller, positions which he has occupied since he joined the company in 2010.

Before joining the company, Fleurant served as controller at Prudential Financial. Prior to that, he was senior manager of Deliotte & Touche for nine years.
