According to Pan-American Life, PALIGMED will offer policyholders access to major hospital, diagnostic services and physicians in Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Panama.

The company said that it is also introducing a new regional ID card which facilitates access to the company’s provider network across the Latin America region. With the regional ID card, insured employees of Pan-American Life’s multinational roster of clients will easily access care from country to country when traveling throughout Latin America.

The features of PALIGMED in Central and South America will include: direct pay access to major physicians in each country; enhanced medical management infrastructure; network negotiated discounts; and value-added benefits program.

Commenting on the launch, Pan-American Life vice president of international health operations, Rob Suchecki, said: "From an offering of the best providers in the region to a medical management infrastructure supported by specialized software, PALIGMED enhances the customer’s experience at all levels of patient care and healthcare administration.

"Also differentiating PALIGMED is immediate, hassle-free recognition and direct pay access to our plan members in all of our countries, as well as our clients who travel throughout the region," Suchecki added.
