Zego teams up with La Parisienne Assurances to grow European business

UK-based insurtech Zego has teamed up with France-based La Parisienne Assurances (LPA) to expand its business across the European market.

The latest deal follows Zego partnership with LPA, which helped the London-based digital insurer to expand into Ireland last year.

Through its mobile app, Zego offers pay-as-you-go insurance for drivers and riders who work flexibly with their own vehicles.

Zego CEO Sten Saar said: “In a short space of time we have already built a strong foothold in the UK and Ireland, providing flexible insurance for thousands of self-employed workers, entrepreneurs and small businesses. This partnership will enable us to build on growth to date and accelerate expansion across Europe.”

LPA executive chairman and CEO Olivier Jaillon said: “I am extremely proud of this ambitious partnership, which emphasises the ability of La Parisienne Assurances to support innovative products that fit the expectations of a changing world.”

Collaboration with LPA marks the first of Zego’s Europe-wide managing general agent (MGA) relationships that will allow the firm to develop new products quickly as per the demand of a particular market.

Established in 2016, Zego uses granular data streams to price policies that are unique to the individuals and insured.

Its underwriting platform comprises a custom-built policy management system and the ability to develop and host pricing in-house which allows the company to provide new products quickly.
