US -based insurance broker Hub International has acquired assets of Eaton-Provident Group (EPG Insurance) for an undisclosed sum.

The acquired firm is a property and casualty insurer, which offers coverage to businesses, families, and individuals.

EPG Insurance offers a wide range of speciality services such as healthcare and construction insurance.

Hub Southwest president Randy Perkins said: “EPG Insurance’s keen understanding of the insurance business, their broad and multidisciplinary experience, and our shared culture and values makes them an ideal addition as we continue to grow in the region and guide clients.”

Through the acquisition of EPG Insurance, which is based in Scottsdale, Arizona, Hub seeks to augment its existing speciality capabilities and expand its footprint.

As per the agreement, principals of EPG Insurance Tim Schmidt, Greg Budiac and Jeff Schmidt will join Hub Southwest along with the rest of the EPG Insurance team.

Earlier this week, Hub closed the acquisition of National Home Warranty Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aviva Canada.

The acquisition of National Home Warranty, which is a home warranty provider in Western Canada, was announced in August this year.

Last month, Hub acquired McNellis Insurance, an independent insurance agency that offers personal, business, life, health and disability insurance along with annuities and other financial products.
