Asia-Pacific witnessed a 1.3% rise in IT hiring activity in the insurance industry in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
August 2021 has seen an increase of 9.51% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 10.43% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2021, registering a decrease of 2.11% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 55.76% in August 2021, an 8.68% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 20.97% in August 2021, marking a 1.11% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 9.22% in August 2021, a 24.53% drop from July 2021.
Computer and Information Research Scientists registered a share of 5.76% in August 2021, a 3.85% decline over the previous month.
Top five insurance companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 0.54% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s insurance industry during August 2021 over previous month.
Willis Towers Watson posted 48 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered an increase of 41.18% over the previous month, followed by Bajaj Finserv with 47 jobs and a flat growth. Intercorp Financial Services with 33 IT jobs and Insurance Australia Group with 29 jobs, recorded a 42.11% drop and a 262.5% rise, respectively, while Swiss Re recorded a 31.58% decline with 26 job postings during August 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s insurance industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s insurance industry IT hiring activity with a 32.95% share in August 2021, a 19.17% increase over July 2021. Australia featured next with a 28.34% share, up 20.59% over the previous month. Philippines recorded a 9.68% share, a drop of 54.35% compared with July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 67.74%, down by 12.5% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 24.19% share, registered a growth of 0.96% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.06% share, down 2.78% over July 2021.
