Hancock, whose appointment was disclosed on 10 June 2014, succeeds Robert Benmosche, who retired and would now serve as an advisor to AIG.

Hancock joined AIG in 2010 from KeyCorp, where he was working as vice-chairman. He was appointed as CEO of AIG Property Casualty in March 2011, when the division was reorganized into two major global groups, commercial and consumer.

Earlier, he worked as executive vice president, finance, risk, and investments at AIG.

Previously in his financial career, Hancock worked for 20 years at JP Morgan, where he founded the Global Derivatives Group, managed the Global Fixed Income business and Global Credit portfolio, and acted as the firm’s chief financial officer and chief risk officer.

He co-founded and served as president of Integrated Finance, an advisory firm specializing in strategic risk management, asset management, and innovative pension solutions.

Serving customers in over 130 nations and regions, AIG provides an array of property-casualty insurance products and services.
