Zurich Insurance Group (Zurich) has appointed Kathleen Savio as the new CEO of Zurich North America, effective 1 January 2018.

Savio will succeed Mike Foley, who has been working as CEO of Zurich North America since 2008. He joined Zurich in 2006 as COO of the North America business unit.

Savio has been working as the president of North America’s Alternative Markets unit since 2012.

In 1991, she joined Zurich and has been served as vice president corporate and marketing communications and vice president of strategic initiatives.

Savio also worked as chair of the Z Zurich Foundation, is an executive sponsor of Zurich’s LGBT employee resource group, and is a member of The Chicago Network.

Zurich Group CEO Mario Greco said: “Kathleen is precisely the type of new-thinking people-focused business leader we need to lead our North American operations in this next phase.
